Can I take Bio-Live if I am due to have surgery or if I am doing chemotheraphy?

Your Question:

My mum has been using microbz Bio-Live Revive and Gold. However she is due to have surgery for cancer in bile duct. The surgery is liver resection, possibly some of the external bile duct. The surgeon had said after surgery she can eat as before, no special or specific diet. I just wonder how soon Microbz' probiotics can be re-introduced? I think it can't be until antibiotics are finished and certainly not if chemotherapy is to be started?

Zara's Answer:

She can indeed take her Bio-Live alongside any antibiotics and chemo.
Of course it will knock out some of the beneficial microbes but research has found that side effects from both are much reduced and bounce back is faster when the microbiome is supported all the way through. Just aim to take Bio-Live at a separate time to the antibiotics and perhaps not on the actual day but the day after the chemo.
Of course she must be guided by how she is feeling too, and take things step by step.
In other countries it has long been standard to offer both together.
