Live Cultures

There are around 100 trillion microbes in your gut – ten times more than all the cells in your body – making your gut central to your health and happiness. The gut is a vast ecosystem of living organisms (microbes) such as bacteria and yeasts, which are vital for breaking down food and toxins, producing vitamins and nutrients and supporting your immune system.

Did you know that there are many health benefits to adding more live bacteria into your daily diet? Here at Microbz, we specialise in providing high quality products that include live active cultures known to improve the functioning of your digestive system.

Take control of your Health with Live Cultures

Live active cultures, otherwise known as ‘probiotics’, are living organisms or microbes that are often found in foods such as yogurts and supplements. They work to maintain your immune system and help control or eliminate the side effects of a number of health conditions.

Whether you’re lactose intolerant, prone to infections or have high blood pressure, opting for a product full of beneficial microbes is great for your health. Species of live cultures include:

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus and lactobacillus casei – both of these microbes convert lactose into lactic acid and can help to reduce cholesterol levels. Lactobacillus acidophilus is known for treating yeast infections.
  • Lactobacillus bulgaricus – often found in dairy products, it helps to convert lactose and other sugars into lactic acid microbes making it beneficial to those that are lactose intolerant.
  • Bifidobacteria – this is a family of microbes that can prevent and treat a number of gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and infections.
  • Streptococcus thermophilus – these friendly microbes contain nutrients that assist with growth, improve digestion and enhance immunity.  They are also used for culturing cheese and yogurt.
