What is different about Bio-Live Revive?

At Microbz we like teaming up with therapeutic specialists. Especially those that share our ethos of a holistic mind, body and spirit and a devotion to all things natural.

Botanical medicine specialist and all round wonder woman Patti Worcester has helped to design and brew our exceptional probiotic, microbz revive (previously Bio-Live Revive). Patti can tell how your immune system is functioning and if you've got any free radical damage or toxicity in the body from a single drop of blood -“ it's incredible. She says, 'given the right tools, both emotionally and physically, the body will go a long way to rebalancing itself.'

Microbz revive was formulated to help the whole digestive system restart and reboot, from top to bottom. Fermented with microbes, carefully selected herbs and L-Glutamine, it will help to repair the gut lining and soothe inflammation. If your digestive system is imbalanced you might have some of these symptoms:

bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, acid reflux, poor sleep, bad breath or body odour, IBS, skin acne, brain fog or autoimmune diseases like Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis or Fibromyalgia.

Revive is your first step towards repairing your gut. We sat down with Patti and asked her to talk us through why the ingredients are unique and what they do.

What makes Revive different? We are not trying to treat a deficiency or a condition in the gut but we're giving the gut suitable tools to repair itself. Everyone's microbiome is unique, containing a diverse array of organisms, so we are giving the body the chance to choose for itself what is most needed from diverse ingredients including microbes, amino acids and essential herbs.

Why is it important to treat the whole digestive system rather than just the stomach, and small and large intestines? The gut, or the gastrointestinal tract, runs from the mouth to the anus. Food is consumed in the mouth and passes down the gullet, or oesophagus, into the stomach and then through to the small intestine. The small intestine is made up of 3 parts - duodenum, jejunum and ileum - and here food is absorbed into the bloodstream.

The tract then continues through to the large intestine, or colon, which leads to the rectum. Here we store faeces and push out waste products through the anal passage. This whole system needs to be treated as one because it IS one system; the whole gastro-intestinal tract. If you have a shirt that's dirty you don't just wash that one spot, you wash the whole thing.

Different people develop different and multiple problems, symptoms or conditions within the whole system. It may be acid reflux before the stomach, or the swallowing reflex is not working well and so this product will address issues anywhere within that system.

Why is treating inflammation so important? Prolonged inflammation in the gut leads to a variety of gastrointestinal diseases from IBS to more severe physical diseases like inflammatory bowel disease and cancer as well as severe psychological conditions including anxiety and depression.

What is leaky gut and how can this product help? What do we want the gut to absorb and what do we want to keep out of it? The gut is lined with tight junction cells. They help to create a symbiotic relationship between the microbes and the human body. The gut microbiota consumes food to get the energy and nutrients necessary for their survival and they, in turn, help the human body with metabolism, developing organ immunity, preventing diseases and using drugs and medicines efficiently.

This symbiotic relationship is very sensitive and it is greatly affected by diet, medications, lifestyle, time and emotional wellbeing. So, we're all on an emotional roller coaster. We may drink copious amounts of alcohol, eat at KFC or McDonalds, consume loads of coffee and sweet processed foods, stay up late watching T.V or playing computer games and then on top of that we may feel bad: angry, sad, abused or frustrated.

These lifestyle choices result in the junction cells overworking and stretching which leads to inflammation. All the ingredients in microbz revive work together to help calm inflammation and reverse the damage inflicted upon the junction cells. Once acute problems in the gut are healed, and we are healthier and happier, each of us then has a choice: will we be kind to ourselves and the gut to prevent disease?

You call this a toolbox, why is the combination of ingredients so important and how does my body absorb it? The ingredients in microbz revive are your toolbox. It contains:

- Slippery elm, which leads to increased mucus production along the whole digestive tract which soothes the gut lining and provides prebiotics which aid absorption of the microbes.

- Aloe, turmeric and the two sulphates decrease inflammation. L-Glutamine can then help to repair the gut wall. Rutin and quercetin also aid inflammation as well as assist in the repair of the gut wall. The peppermint soothes the gut and assists with the digestion of food and decreases bloating.

Microbz revive is mainly absorbed in the duodenum, the first section of the small intestines.

How do the microbes work in relation to the other ingredients? The microbes provide the gut with the tools for optimum performance leading to a healthier and happier existence.

There are villi all the way along the digestive tract. Why are these important and how does revive keep them healthy? Villi are specialised to help the body to absorb nutrients from food. They live in the small intestine and work by increasing the surface area available for food to be absorbed and helping the body to produce digestive secretions - which are fluids that help the body break down complex food molecules (like proteins) into the building blocks of life (amino acids). Your microbiome is an inner ecosystem that works to help your body get the maximum nutrients from what you consume and reduce the likelihood of disease. Revive soothes, supports and boosts this inner ecosystem and ensures it is working properly.
